The last of the leaves

There is absolutely no reason for this post other than because I absolutely love all of these photos I captured of the girls and I want to document them somewhere.

I took these images last Sunday on a lovely, chilly, brisk morning walk up to the rope swings we discovered a couple of months ago on a side track off of the Stepping Stones trail on Cannock Chase. With December just around the corner I’d wanted to make the most of the last of the Autumn leaves and colours before the Christmas madness took over.

I’m so pleased we went. It was totally worth the numb fingers and toes to see the happiness they felt as they laughed while playing on the rope swings, the joy on their faces as they tossed handfuls of crunchy leaves in the air and the exhilarated smiles as they raced each other at top speed up and down the winding slopes through the trees.

They look so small amongst the huge trees as we made our way up to the rope swings.

Balancing on the log to see if she could make it to the centre of the pond to reach the rope swing dangling tantalisingly over the middle of the pool!

I love this one. She looks so tiny (and a little bit like Red Riding Hood)!

We chose to go back along a path we’d not been on before. Our reward? A thick carpet of the most perfect crunchy leaves imaginable
