An unmade bed; her 'Happy Thoughts' journal; Teddy; a glass of water dangerously close to the edge of her desk; all of the cushions and blankets she owns; and posters of all of her favourite music artists, TV shows and movies.

The house has been in chaos all summer but I know I'll miss the mess when they go back to school and college next week.

The wait is finally over and this one collected he

The wait is finally over and this one collected her GCSE results this morning. To say we are all immensely proud of her is an understatement - she did brilliantly.
.
She's now enrolled at college to study A levels and it's a whole new chapter for her. I hope that the fresh start, connecting with different people, studying new subjects, learning from inspiring teachers and having more independence stretches her in all the best ways. And I hope with all my heart that she continues to stay just as close with her two best friends, who have chosen to stay on at sixth form.
.
The numbers and grades she achieved reflect the hard work she put into school and revising for her exams. What they don't measure is her feistiness, her creativity, her hysterically sarcastic sense of humour, her sense of justice, her loyalty, her bravery, her heart or any of the other things that make her Mimi. We love you with everything we have @mimirose_12 and you amaze us every single day ❤️🫶🥰

Showing up even (especially) when it's hard 🫶

It's World Photography Day 📸 today and that's got me thinking about art, images, self portraiture, storytelling, emotions, therapy, memories and everything else that photography encompasses for me. I honestly don't know what I would do without my camera. Documenting the stories of our lives is so deeply, intrinsically important to me.
.
As the girls have got older, and set their individual boundaries with when they will and won't allow me to capture them, I've found myself stepping in front of the lens more often, wanting to show that I was there too, wanting to work through deep stuff that's resurfaced, wanting to see myself in a different way.
.
This photo isn't particularly creative (other than the pretty light) but it is honest. Taking photographs of myself feels challenging, but it's worth every bit of discomfort because beyond it is growth.

I've been working a lot this summer and the girls have been left to their own devices (quite literally - phones tablets, laptops, tv...) for far too many hours 😵‍💫

I popped my head round Lola's bedroom door to check on her in between clients and was delighted to find her getting creative instead. Also, look at that light! 😍
