A festive edition of #projecthappy! We’ve had the most wonderful first half of the Christmas holidays. It’s been tiring and busy in the very best of ways and my heart is full. Plus we still have a whole week left to go!
And now we find ourselves almost at the end of 2018 and preparing for a brand new year to start in a couple of days time. I use this time of year to both reflect on what’s been and to look forwards to what’s to come, figuring out what I’ve learnt and what I want to create. As good as this year has been in many, many ways, I’m also feeling quite glad to see the back of it. At the moment 2019 is a fairly blank canvas, full of possibilities and as yet unknown opportunities to say yes to.
My joyful moments from the last ten days are below and I think they might be some of my favourite ones yet…
Day 291: The husband’s 40th birthday!
Day 292: The last day of term. I love the Christmas Carol Concert that the whole school put on – it’s such a lovely way to finish for Christmas
Day 293: The girls woke up to a big surprise – the teenager arrived late last night to spend Christmas with us! Today we decorated our gingerbread house together.
Day 294: Family trip to the pantomime!
Day 295: Christmas Eve. We went for our traditional Christmas Eve walk and were rewarded with this magical sunset on the way home
Day 296: Christmas Day!
Day 297: Boxing Day. The teenager went home today so the girls and I had a relaxed day together drinking hot chocolate and playing with their new gifts.
Day 298: The final surprise of the year – a belated special family birthday meal out for the husband’s birthday at a really lovely local hotel/restaurant
Day 299: Mini-Christmas with my parents. I love this photo so much!
Day 300: We went to see Mary Poppins Returns at the new luxury cinema in town. The film was so wonderful (and the cinema is ace!)
