Project Happy {Year 4}: Days 81-90

A half term edition of #projecthappy!  It’s gone so quickly, and suddenly we’re in June and halfway through 2017 already.  I’m so glad I have this project to help me slow down and actually notice and capture the joyful moments every day – without it I’m sure it would feel like time was going even faster.

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks of birthday celebrations and fun in the sunshine and I really don’t want the girls to go back to school tomorrow – I like the slow mornings, the conversations we have together at the kitchen table and the moments of connection that seem to happen so much more when they have time to just be themselves.  Seven weeks (yes, I’m counting) until the summer holidays and then we get six whole weeks of time together and I honestly can’t wait.  Yes, there will be the inevitable meltdown and strops and arguments, just like there always are, and yes they’ll be difficult to manage in the moment.  But overall I know we’re going to have so much fun and make so many memories that it will vastly outweigh any less good moments.

Here’s what we’ve been up to and my moments of happiness from the last ten days…

Day 81: Mimi’s birthday!

Day 82: The hottest day of the year so far, yoga and a cheeky Magnum ice cream in the garden in the afternoon 😉

Day 83: Lola made us all bookmarks. I didn’t have the heart to tell her she’d spelt my name wrong. If you can’t quite read her writing, the red part says “You will always fill my heart”. And yes, I cried when she gave it to me.

Day 84: Mimi’s birthday celebrations – Flip Out with a friend in the morning, presents and (more) cake.

Day 85: We went to the Great British Food Festival at Weston Park today. It was gorgeously sunny and after the initial whinges about being bored, we found the circus skills tent and had loads of fun in there 🙂

Day 86: A girly day today. Nail painting and giggles at the kitchen table – my heart felt very happy

Day 87: A visit from my gorgeous cousin 🙂

Day 88: A glorious sunrise

Day 89: A spontaneous picnic lunch in the garden and then a waterfight, because why not? 😉

Day 90: Getting out for a walk despite the slightly drizzly weather. I showed the girls the new rope swing I found and we stayed there for ages playing on it 🙂
