Project Happy {Year 4}: Days 11-20

How on earth are we almost at the end of March already?! 2017 is flying by so quickly. It’s said that in motherhood the days are long but the years are short – I’m inclined to disagree a little bit because the days seem to be zooming past as speedily as the weeks and months. I never seem to have enough time to get everything done that I intend to do and time spent with the girls, on school days especially, often slips away in a stream of practicalities.

I’m so grateful for deciding to continue with this project to capture the happy moments that would otherwise be swallowed up by the day-to-day routine.  These little moments of joy really matter.

Day 11: A glorious Spring day. It was so warm in London it almost felt like Summer, and my favourite magnolia tree was beginning to bloom

Day 12: Yoga and double daffs

Day 13: The biggest strawberry in the world!

Day 14: Bridesmaid dress shopping for my best friend’s wedding and we found the most surreal place for a tea-break on the top floor of House of Fraser

Day 15: This one was SO excited to be going to her best friend’s house to play for a couple of hours this morning. I love the bonds that my girls have with their friends 🙂

Day 16: Ella’s teacher loved her story so much that she laminated it and put it in the school library so other students can borrow it to read at home. She’s absolutely thrilled to be a ‘published author’

Day 17: An impromptu early morning rendition of one of the songs Ella is learning at choir, complete with choreographed dance moves!

Day 18: My blog’s first birthday! #proud

Day 19: After a not-so-great start to the day (lots of tears and shouting from all of us) yoga heped me feel better. I didn’t have time to put my mat away and when Mimi got home from school she asked if she could do some yoga so I sat down with her, we breathed together and then did a couple of sun salutations. Words can’t explain how much I loved this moment.

Day 20: Mother’s Day Assembly at school.  My heart is full to the brim.
